Pooraka sits between Main North Road and the Gepps Cross junction, where Adelaide's inner north starts turning into the outer north. It is a working suburb of brick homes from the 1960s and 70s, newer infill townhouses on the old larger blocks, and a long industrial strip along Main North Road and Cavan that keeps a lot of small offices and showrooms busy.
The original Pooraka homes are solid brick with a separate lounge and three carpeted bedrooms, and plenty of them still have the wool twist or heavy nylon carpet that was laid when the house was last renovated. Pooraka questions
Yes. Carpet tiles clean well with hot water extraction as long as the moisture is controlled so the tiles do not curl at the edges. We book showrooms and offices along the Pooraka and Cavan industrial strip outside trading hours where possible, so the floor is dry before staff and customers come back in.
Usually the grey is soil ground into the pile by foot traffic rather than permanent damage, and it lifts well with a pre-spray and hot water extraction. If the fibres themselves are frayed or crushed, cleaning will make the hallway cleaner but cannot rebuild the pile, and we will tell you honestly which it is when we inspect it.
