Salisbury is one of the biggest centres in Adelaide's north, with the Parabanks shopping centre, the Salisbury Interchange on the Gawler train line and a council area that stretches out to the Little Para River. The suburb itself is a long-established mix of family homes, units and rentals, and it is a busy area for property managers.
Much of Salisbury was built from the 1950s through to the 1970s, so there are plenty of solid brick and Housing Trust style homes with carpeted bedrooms and a carpeted lounge, often with the original hallway carpet still in place. Newer townhouses and infill units near the station have modern, low-pile nylon or polypropylene carpet in grey tones.
