Malvern is a tightly held inner-southern suburb in the City of Unley, between Unley Road and Fullarton Road, with the Duthy Street shops at its centre and the city a short tram or bike ride away. Tree-lined streets of character homes, a strong school catchment and walkable cafes keep demand high from families and downsizers alike.
Most of Malvern's homes are stone villas, return-verandah homes and 1920s bungalows, many extended with open-plan living at the rear, plus some 1960s and 1970s unit groups and newer townhouses near the main roads. Carpet in the character homes sits in the front bedrooms and often a formal lounge, and wool or quality wool-blend is the usual choice to suit the period interiors. Malvern questions
Fresh wine on wool usually comes out with the right gentle treatment. Set-in wine is harder on wool than on synthetic carpet because the stronger reducing treatments used on nylon cannot be used as aggressively on a protein fibre. We assess each mark on inspection and tell you honestly whether it will lift fully, partly or not at all before we start.
Book for after your furniture is out and ideally the day before the inspection so the carpet can dry. We clean every carpeted room, treat any marks and email a dated receipt listing the rooms on the day of the clean, which is what the property manager asks for. Tell us if a pet lived there so we can treat those areas properly.
